Who Was The Hottest Founding Father?

It really depends on what criteria you use to judge.

Let's take a look at the top three contenders.
(Lists of attributes below not intended to be wholly inclusive)

George Washington

Born into a family of Virginia Plantation Owners of "middling rank".
Solider
Statesman
Strategist
Senior Officer in the Colonial Forces in The French And Indian War.
Commander in chief of the Continental Army during Revolutionary War.
1st President of the USA.
As President, successfully squelched a tax revolt among US Western Farmers dubbed the Whiskey Rebellion.
Presided over the drafting of the US Constitution.
Supported Alexander Hamilton and the Federalists in their quest to found a national bank and implement taxes to raise funds to offset national debts.
Worked with Hamilton to design the Jay Treaty to normalize post Revolutionary relations with Britain. (1794)

Alexander Hamilton

Born out of wedlock and grew up in the West Indies. An orphan by age 11.
Solider
Statesman
Lawyer
Lover
Master orator/debater (the only person who could match him at the time was Aaron Burr)
Aide-de-camp to George Washington in the Revolutionary War.
Served in Continental Congress representing New York.
Served under George Washington to defeat the revolt of western farmers against taxes dubbed the Whiskey Rebellion, 1794.
Commander of the US Army during the Quasi War.
Leader of the Federalist Party.
United States Secretary of the Treasury
Founded the Bank of New York.
Lead the Annapolis Convention that pressured Congress to hold a Philadelphia Convention to draw up a new US Constitution to replace the Articles of Confederation.
Wrote 51 of the 85 installments of the Federalists Papers.
Publicly confessed to infidelity in his marriage, inciting a huge scandal, ending his active political career. (And yes, all these men had sexual rumors and/or scandals attached to their names but only Hamilton publicly confessed. Only Hamilton paid a high price for his escapade and subsequent confession, so his is the only one I mentioned.)
A significant behind the scenes influence on the cabinet of President John Adams.
Became embroiled in a political rivalry with Aaron Burr that led to a duel in which Hamilton was killed.

Thomas Jefferson

Born into a family of tobacco planter/slave owners.
Circuit Lawyer
An Enlightenment Philosopher who spoke five languages.
Inventor
Architect
Book lover
Loved expensive wine and fine food
Drafted the Declaration of Independence.
War time governor to Virginia in the Revolutionary War. (There's some scandal attached to how he enacted his duties during the British invasion of Virginia by Cornwallis.)
Introduced "Bill for Establishing Religious Freedom" in 1779, enacted in 1786
Delegate in the Continental Congress representing Virginia
United States Minister to France (1785)
United States Secretary of State (1790-1793)
Third President of the USA.
Commander-in-Chief during the First Barbary War.
As US President, authorized the Louisiana Purchase.
Founder of the University of Virginia.

  17. BBQ & watermelon (or any other fruit) would be my favorite July 4th food.
As for my favorite founding father, I can't say I find any of the "hot", but I chose John Hancock because here is a man who made sure the king knew he was committing treason & didn't care what he thought. Love a man who does what he thinks is right without concern for what others think.

    1. That's a great reason to vote for Hancock. Yes, there's nothing hotter than a man who lives by his beliefs. He was supposed to have been really handsome and extroverted but never arrogant. He was said to be generous with his wealth. Sounds like a hot guy to me. :D

  23. My hottie pick is George Washington. It was a toss up between him and Hamilton-- after all who doesn't love a lover and honest, too...but I prefer a one woman man!

    1. Yes, I prefer a one-man woman too. :D But the poignant thing about Hamilton is that from all his letters and all evidence, he did adore his wife. Very much. All these men — Washington, Jefferson, Hamilton, Burr — seemed to have much love and devotion for their wives. But Hamilton had a rough childhood and a complex relationship with his mother and appeared to have been a very complex person himself.

Thank you so much for stopping and voting in the contest. :)
