Hello Everyone and welcome to my stop on the Color of Love Blog Hop.
First I'd like to give thanks to Love Bites & Silk, Kiru Taye, Empi Baryeh and Nana Prah for organizing and hosting this wonderful event.
It’s that time of the year where we celebrate our love for characters of color in romantic fiction in the Color of Love Blog Hop.
Today I am so excited and highly honored to welcome Beverly Jenkins to the blog. For those who don't already know, Beverly Jenkins writes fresh, dynamic stories of love and adventure in historical settings. This is classic, hot historical romance at its best.
Happy Thursday. Many thanks to Natasha for offering me this opportunity to meet her readers and tell them a bit about myself. My name is Beverly Jenkins. I’m a USA TODAY best-selling Avon author. I have thirty-one books in print and I write historicals. My first historical, Night Song was published by Avon in 1994. Over my twenty year career with them I’ve written romantic suspense, a couple of YAs and have an ongoing contemporary series designated as women’s fiction, but my specialty is 19th century African American life. Why? Well, first I am African-American and second, it’s a great way to showcase the amazing contributions of people of color to this great country that many readers may not be familiar with.
Through my books, readers get not only a great love story featuring strong heroines and hot heroes that take your breath away, but are also offered well documented tidbits highlighting the Buffalo soldiers, the spy ring Harriet Tubman ran on behalf of the Union army during the civil war, the black and brown lawmen and outlaws of Indian Territory – I write westerns also – and much much more. Each of my nineteen historicals is a different adventure set against a backdrop readers and critics find exciting and fresh.
Do you have a thing for pirates – then set sail with Captured.
Looking for a lady gambler – A Chance at Love is the ticket.
How about a female outlaw – Wild Sweet Love is the book for you.
Need to know about this nation’s first female physicians – try Vivid.
Want a hero that leaves you breathless – meet Galen Vachon from Indigo.
What about a lady rancher backed by a group of hot outlaws in her fight to keep her land – saddle up and ride with Taming Jessi Rose.
If you have a favorite, American set, historical type of story, you can probably find one amongst my titles.
In closing, I hope this short look at who I am and what I write pique’s your interest enough to check out my work. My thanks again to Natasha. Take care and happy reading. B
Natasha here again: I am just so thrilled to have been able to host Beverly Jenkins on my blog for the Color of Love Blog Hop and thank you very much to her for stopping by to share with us today.
Noah Yates fully believes in the joys of a happy family and a good wife. But that's not the life for him. No, he would much rather sail the wild seas in search of adventure, not tied down. But then the unthinkable happens . . . he finds himself literally tied down. To a bed. By a woman.
And Pilar isn't just an ordinary woman. She's descended from pirates. And after giving him one of the worst nights of his life, she steals his ship! Now Noah is on the hunt, and he'll stop at nothing to find this extraordinary woman . . . and make her his.
